Recently, I’ve made a conscious decision to try and give up fast fashion. With signing up to Lookiero and Marie-Kondoing the shit out of my wardrobe, I’ve really wanted to get rid of all my odd cheap buys and fill my wardrobe with high-quality staple pieces.
Luckily – though very affordable – Quiz is one shop that offers high-quality garments at inexpensive prices. Though I’m giving up fast fashion in the foreseeable future, I recently got a raise at work and booked a holiday of a lifetime for in March, so I’ve been taking a look at the Quiz website to see how I can treat myself before giving up cheap/easy fashion for good.
Here’s what’s on my wishlist.

This definitely doesn’t count as cheap/fast fashion, but I absolutely adore this champagne sequin dress. I’ve been keeping an eye out for sequin dresses for a while now because I want something with a real wow factor for my visit to Las Vegas (though I can’t see this dress suitable for a random night out but when in Vegas, right?!), and I also need a 1920s themed dress for my work’s awards ceremony in the summer. Could this dress work for both? I’m not sure it would work f looor the 1920s theme but I’m definitely tempted to treat myself to it anyway!
I never thought I’d ever see myself wanting to purchase a crop top yet here we are. This cute sequin crop top is ever so versatile and would look great with the metallic skirt – or anything else that is high wasted. I also think it would work well for my Burlesque classes!
Since signing up to Lookiero, I’ve become a lot more outgoing with my outfit choices and so a mustard yellow pair of sandals is almost essential, right?! The thing about mustard is that it’s a very out there colour, however, I feel like it goes with so much. In my mind I’m already imagining at least three different outfits these can go with, including that metallic skirt!
I really love this silver metallic pleated skirt because it is such a nice length. I find it so hard to find stylish skirts that are at a decent length (I mean, jeez, I’m 30 next year, I am totally over mini skirts) and I am totally digging pleated skirts at the moment. I picked up a beautiful pale pink one in Primark before Christmas (a total steal because it was on a random shelf and I couldn’t find it anywhere else) and love it so much. This one I really like because the silver colour means its jazzy enough for a night out (again, hello Vegas!) but it can also very easily be dressed down for work.
Finally, I have my eye on this sweet sequin clutch – another one that would be ideal for Vegas! I mean, really, this would glam up any outfit and I love the ombre effect of the sequin colours but I also like that it’s actually a decent size for a clutch bag. So many clutch bags barely hold more than a phone, a bank card and keys! So a decent sized one is something I’ll definitely need sooner rather than later.
I think a visit to Quiz is definitely on the cards soon. Quiz will always be an old favourite for me because although some of it can be hit and miss, I find it’s very easy to find something you like – I’ll very rarely come out of Quiz empty-handed. Plus they do a Curve line which is always good!
Do you shop at Quiz? Do you like my picks? Let me know!
