4 Ways I Want to Celebrate My 30th Birthday

If you haven’t already heard, in just a few months time I turn 30. I AM NOT AN ADULT. I am extremely scared about this change. How am I going to cope? I have no idea but all I do know is that I’m brainstorming tons of ideas on how to celebrate. None of these ideas are actually realistic of course because I’m not going to be able to drag any of my family to London and lol, good luck finding a man who will actually take me on a romantic weekend away.

Nonetheless, here are four ways I’d like to celebrate my 30th birthday.

Louise in a white top and denim shorts stands in front of a rustic vintage vehicle celebrating her 30th birthday, with a large "Hamm's Beer" water tower overhead, surrounded by a desert-like landscape with mountains in the background.

Since joining a travel group on Facebook, it’s become extremely clear to me that Bali is the place to go to celebrate 30th birthdays. A place filled with wonderful culture, friendly people and unmissable Instagram photo opps – there’s nowhere better! Unfortunately, I don’t think I can save enough to actually get there for my 30th birthday but if I can get there next year whilst I’m still 30, that’ll work, right?

For my birthday, our family tradition is to have an Indian takeaway – which suits me just fine. It’s so close to Christmas that everyone is skint so if I can stay at home in comfy clothes and eat my body weight in curry whilst getting drunk off of snowballs, I’m not complaining! However, it would be nice to go out out for my 30th. The chances of getting my family to London are slim to none, but if I can, it’s gotta be a visit to Sarastro (a crazy and involving restaurant which is a favourite amongst theatre-goers who often go there to continue the party after the show). It’ll be a crazy night indeed. If I can’t drag them to London, a meal at the local (but really nice) Italian restaurant in Luton will absolutely do. Their cheese doughballs are to die for..!

That being said, there’s also been talk of a possible cruise at some point..!

I have stayed in some nice places in my life, but mainly boutique places (not that I’m complaining!). I would absolutely love to go somewhere insanely expensive or overly plush and romantic for the night. I’ve had my eye on Crazy Bear hotel for years now thanks to its gold baths at the foot of the bed and velvet walls..plus the fact that it offers a restaurant, hot tubs, a pool (in one of the hotels anyway) and really nice rooms overall. Failing that? Maybe I can get my dad to install a Luxurious Shower Cabin at home for me!

A luxurious bell tent at Boomtown Fair next summer! Need I say more?
