I am trying to up my Instagram game massively lately. I’ve created a brand new account just for the blog, I’ve settled into a nice preset/theme and I’m aiming to post regularly (every other day – not as regular as I should but it works for me for now!) – so I thought what better way to show it off than to throw in a little catch up post?
I’ve been super busy lately and blogging has fallen on the back radar which is something I need to turn around! It’s easy enough when I have a weekend free to sit down and catch up on everything but lately, everytime I think I have a free weekend, my plans to be productive go out of the window and in the blink of an eye I’m falling asleep at my desk at 10pm on a Sunday evening, cursing myself for not putting any time aside!
Still. Here’s what I’ve been up to lately, top to bottom, right to left. Please note, I ‘archived’ two images on Instagram (just for this photo – they’re back now) which are just throwbacks so don’t really count.
ONE | Thorpe Park
I headed to Thorpe Park yesterday with my friends and Shaun and though we were unsure of how the day would be (he wasn’t looking forward to how busy it was predicted to be!), it actually turned out to be a really fun day in the end. The first couple of hours were a bit of a drag, lining up for ages in the boiling hot sun for the first rollercoaster, but afterwards, we got drenched on Tidal Wave and cooled down a bit – and the lines weren’t too bad afterwards either. My favourite ‘rides’ of the day were definitely Derren Brown’s Ghost Train: Rise of the Demon (because I had no idea what to expect yet it still blew me out of the water!) and Swarm, as I hadn’t been on that yet and not only was the idea behind the coaster really cool with crashed planes, ambulances etc) but You Me At Six did the theme song for it. So that’s cool.
TWO, THREE & FOUR | Covent Garden
I didn’t actually realise how many of these photos I shared in a row, although I have more to add! We had a great day in Covent Garden a few weekends ago and honestly, I’ve been itching to go back. In between visiting a cool photography exhibition (photo one), trawling through pretty corridors (photo two) and just generally sightseeing (photo three), here’s what else we got up to!
FIVE | Science, Bitch!
After our day in Covent Garden, we headed over to ABQ London for the immersive Breaking Bad cocktail experience. It was super fun, especially for Shaun who hadn’t been before. I had – but only when the RV was at its previous location. Now it’s been moved to a fully expanded venue with a bar and pizzeria – plus loads more photo ops. I’ll probably pop up a full review soon but overall, we both loved it.
SIX | Primark’s Fully Vegan Skincare Range
The moment I found out Primark had released a fully vegan skincare range, I rushed over and bought everything. Did it live up to the hype though? Yes and no. My favourite products so far are probably the face wipes, exfoliating glove and moisturizer – but since using, I have found myself breaking out a little more. I have yet to weed out if this is due to using the moisturizer or not! The toner has a scent to it that isn’t quite right for me, but the makeup remover works well. I have yet to try out the overnight sleep mask – but as a whole, I think the range is really good. The fact that it’s entirely vegan means it’s always a win in my books.
SEVEN | Awesome Adventures Las Vegas
Okay, technically this is a sort of throwback, but it’s one of my all-time favourite photos so I had to share it still. Briony took this photo of me when exploring the kitschy area filled with oddball memorabilia right in the middle of the Nevada desert. Weird? Yes. But also awesome? Definitely! This was part of an [gifted] excursion with Awesome Adventures Las Vegas that saw us visiting Techatticup Gold Mine and riding through the desert in an RZR – a real adrenaline-filled adventure! If you’re ever in Vegas – keep one of these tours in mind with Awesome Adventures Las Vegas: you won’t regret it.
EIGHT | A Run
I tried to start running again this summer. After two singular runs..I’m still trying. I’m not throwing in the towel just yet, I’m just so busy all the time! I managed to snap this picture after a slow run (okay, more like a mix of running and walking with the Zombies, Run! 5k Training app) at Willen Lake in Milton Keynes during an afternoon when it was warm but not too hot. Willen Lake is definitely one of my favourite places in Milton Keynes.
NINE | New Hair, Who Dis?
Even though it’s pretty much faded back to blonde again now, here’s a rare recent selfie of me after I had my hair done. I love the colour here and how well the cut shapes my face, plus the subtle pink at the back of my hair. But what colour to go next? That is the question…
So, that’s been my life lately! What have you been up to? Let me know!
