June is here! It’s practically summer…and that’s all I have to say on that, thank you very much. This year is going by far too quickly for my liking! Here’s what I’m looking forward to this month.
THE SHOW
The Handmaid’s Tale returns this month with season three. I have to admit, the last season disappointed me when – SPOILER ALERT – Offred decides not to continue with her escape. Though I understand her reasons, I was rooting for her the whole season! That being said, I suppose if she did go through with the escape, I probably wouldn’t be anticipating a third season now as there likely wouldn’t be one! I absolutely love this show and cannot wait for its return.
The Handmaid’s Tale returns on the 5th.
THE MOVIE
Whilst we’re on the subject of badass women, Men In Black: International also drops this month, this time with a female lead! I admittedly wasn’t too happy at the thought of a reboot at first but after seeing the trailers starring Tessa Thompson (and Chris Hemsworth – not a badass woman but still a great actor!), I’ve definitely come around to the idea and may even go and see it this month.
Men In Black: International will be released on the 14th.
THE BOOK
Sometimes you just need a total easy reading chick lit in the summer, and Fix Her Up by Tessa Bailey hits the spot. It tells the story of Georgette who is determined to fulfil all her life goals in all the different areas of her life – totally relatable, right? Who else feels constantly exhausted trying to excel in every single area of their life? She goes on to meet Travis, a major-league-baseball player turned normal as hell. Georgie proposes they pretend to date..and, well, you know the rest. Well worth a read by the beach this month.
Fix Her Up will be released on the 11th.
THE EVENT
Zoo Nights at London Zoo returns this month! The perfect excuse to stretch that summer day out further, a visit to ZSL will allow adults to visit the animals wide awake, whilst strolling around street food stalls serving dishes from around the world and acoustic music. The perfect summer date night.
Zoo Nights runs from the 7th.
ANYTHING ELSE?
I can’t believe I’m saying this but I cannot keep my mouth shut any longer. You might be looking at one of The Other Side’s Paranormal Group’s newest volunteers. And what does this mean, you ask? Basically, TOSPG hosts ghost hunting events and investigations around the UK. When they posted in Facebook that they were looking for volunteers, I dived at the chance! If successful – and that’s a big if – I’ll be helping out at different events and trained to help and maybe even one day run my own investigations. Just like on Most Haunted. DREAM COME TRUE. My first investigation will take place at the end of this month – wish me luck!
What are you looking forward to this month? Let me know!
