I love a good cocktail. Cocktails for me are such an accurate representation of summer – colourful and tasty drinks that you slowly get tipsy on during a warm summer’s day – or on holiday. I much prefer cocktails to mixers, especially now that I tend to prefer making my own cocktails on my bar cart at home as opposed to going out clubbing all night whilst drinking cheap vodka mixers!
Therefore, I was delighted when Joe Browns got in touch to tell me all about their Shaken and Stirred quiz to help celebrate summer (I know it’s now September but we’ve had a lovely heatwave lately!) and being allowed outside once more – even if the rules are constantly changing.

I’ve always been a fan of Joe Browns and their unique and fashionable clothing. I much prefer to be individual in what I wear, so I love how garments from Joe Browns can be a little bit different or boho whilst also keeping in mind current trends. Filled with bold designs, whenever I wear anything from Joe Browns, I feel like my clothes are full of personality.
I think this quiz is such a cute idea, especially for someone wanting to inject more personality into their wardrobe but isn’t sure where to start! This quiz is aimed to help you find what cocktail complements your wardrobe/style, and shares some beautiful pieces that reflect such summer cocktails.
It’s no surprise that my result was Mojito! The quiz states, “Your wardrobe is fun-loving and full of life, just like the classic sun-drenched Mojito. Formulated in the colourful streets of Havana, this cocktail is filled with herbaceous and sweet citrus aromas. Always cool, you shake off the latest trends to create outfits that showcase your playful personality.” Which I think is mostly spot on! Inspired fashion by the classic cocktail included this bold-print Mexicana Tunic and this funky In The Sun Shirt (which is unfortunately out of stock at this current time). I love both (I would love to see my boyfriend in the shirt!) and I’m keeping my eye on the tunic for next time I may make it to the beach.
Other cocktails/styles include Mimosa, Cuba Libre, Cosmopolitan, Martini and Sea Breeze. The quiz also revealed some interesting stats, such as Brits being best suited to the bold and citrusy Cuba Libra, with 28% of style selections resulting in this delicious drink being the most popular choice of the quiz.
Blue was also picked as the most popular colour, with 29% of quiz takers picking blue as their favourite colour – although red, green and pink were close favourites too!
To help celebrate the excuse to finally wear summer fashion again, Joe Browns kindly gifted me a couple of items to enjoy. Due to the recent heatwave, I’ve been getting a lot of use out of this wonderful Touch Of Pink dress, whereas heading back to the office on chilly mornings again has left me reaching for this cosy slouchy cardigan as a wardrobe staple.
I absolutely adore the Touch Of Pink dress which is long and floaty but complements my shape really well. Many of my summer dresses tend to be quite short whereas this is the perfect length and is easily dressed up or down depending on the circumstances. I’ve spent a few warm days recently pairing it with just simple white pumps to make it a little more casual for strolls around Milton Keynes.

The cosy cardigan, on the other hand, has been a godsend once the sun goes down and the air turns a little chillier. I really, really love the oversized and slouchy feel of it and it’s made me excited for autumn. I know I’ll be wearing it constantly throughout autumn and winter – but whilst the weather has still been nice, I’ve been taking it out with me and just pulling it on in the evenings over a strappy top and summer skirt.
I really love these two pieces from Joe Browns and think they fit perfectly in my wardrobe for the transition from summer into autumn. And I’ve loved the range of garments inspired by summer cocktails too, with much of Joe Browns’ range being perfect for cocktail-inspired Summer/Autumn fashion!
