My Review of Vampire Slayer Escape Room at London Escaped

An atmospheric Vampire Slayer Escape Room with a deep red carpet and walls adorned with arches. A central column features numerous sculpted faces, and a vintage chest rests in the corner next to a lit lantern.

Today I’m sharing with you the last of my reviews from my recent visit to London. Following a morning spent getting scared silly at the London Dungeons, we headed over to Whitechapel to try our hands at an escape room!

I have a little bit of experience with escape rooms but I don’t think I’m particularly good at them. Unless it’s to shout loud and encourage the rest of the team! Luckily there were eight of us altogether, meaning that our chances of beating Dracula were kind of good…right?

When we arrived, I thought the location was a little weird. We had to walk down a sort of small parking area to get to the front desk. We were then ushered into a large waiting room with multiple escape rooms adjoined. I was also quite surprised to see any escape rooms that weren’t in use were open for anyone to see. On one hand, I liked this. I had a chance to nosy at other rooms I’d like to try my hand at in future. But it also meant that whilst we were waiting, anyone could have walked in and discovered all the secrets to another room.

I was very surprised at how many escape rooms were operated in this one location. They all had so much attention to detail, from what I could see. Escaped London clearly knows what they’re doing and have a lot of experience in creating tough escape rooms.

We didn’t have to wait long before we entered Dracula’s lair. Luckily we received instructions on how to defeat the vampire at the end. This was helpful and helped us have some idea of what we had to do. Once locked in, we immediately knuckled down and got to work.

I really liked the look and feel of the room. It had a great atmosphere! However, some props seemed to be worse for wear and destroyed over time. Luckily, this didn’t affect the task at hand. Although it did make some tasks a little tougher and left us wondering if we were on the right path.

Although this made the room a little more challenging, it was challenging in a fun way.

Some parts were a lot tougher than they had to be and didn’t quite make sense. But overall I enjoyed the challenge. The hour seemed to stretch on for a long time and we escaped with under five minutes to spare.

I definitely managed to decipher a good few clues and help the team. Some parts were quite hands-on which I enjoyed. I liked that there were so many tasks to do, meaning everyone had something to do. No one felt left out or kind of left on the sidelines.

Overall I really enjoyed the escape room. Obviously, I would not return and repeat this one. But I would definitely like to return and try the other rooms – most especially White Walker (the Game of Thrones-themed room which is perfect for just two people/dates). I liked that there were multiple rooms to do, meaning you could make an evening of it. They also had things like a foosball table to play with whilst waiting your turn.

I feel like the room (and the common room/waiting area) could both do with a bit of an upgrade. But it didn’t deter from the fun of the evening. Plus if you do want to make an evening out of it, it’s not too far from places like Spitalfield’s market for pre-shopping or Kingly Court for post-drinks.

Have you ever done an escape room before? Would you try and defeat Dracula in the Vampire Slayer Escape Room? Let me know!
