Lifestyle | Hello March

05/03/2019
An open journal with a marbled and pink cover titled "Weekly Planner: March Edition" lies on a patterned bedsheet next to folded pink and white headphones. A hexagonal dish with the word "Hello" and a ring inside it rests nearby.

It is March. It is March people. How has this happened?! I don’t even know but what I do know is that I’ve got a jam-packed month coming up. I don’t think I’ll be spending much time watching Netflix or listening to music (apart from epic road trip playlists!), but nonetheless here is what cool stuff is coming up.

THE BOOK
Technically this came out late in February, but I’ve only just heard about this amazing book called Last of Her Name. It’s loosely based on the (original, not the cartoon) legend of Anastasia – only it’s kind of based in space! It sounds awesome. It tells the story of Stacia who is identified as the lost princess Anya – which, of course, sends her world into chaos! I don’t want to give too much away because it is loosely based on a story that you more than likely already know anyway. But I’ll certainly be picking this up to read soon.
Last of Her Name is out now.

THE SHOW
The as-of-yet-unnamed and undated Madeleine McCann documentary is due to drop on Netflix this month. Again, there’s now much I can say about this because almost everyone has heard all about this sad case. But the whole case definitely intrigues me, because there are so many different theories involving her disappearance. I just find it bizarre that there has been no traces of her since that night!
This documentary will be released on Netflix this month – but the exact date has not yet been revealed.

THE MOVIE
I still don’t know what this movie is about exactly but it looks terrifying. The American psychological horror film is written and directed by Jordan Peele. I can definitely see some similarities if even just the sheer weirdness of the trailer. It follows a family who go to a beach house but are soon terrorised by a group of strangers (The Tethered). Only the odd thing is, The Tethered look exactly like them. Somehow I think the mystery is going to be far more interesting than a simple doppelganger theory. I have to admit – as much as I’m looking forward to seeing this movie, I am very nervous!
Us will be released on the 22nd of March.

THE EVENT
twenty one pilots baby! The band are currently touring the UK/world following the recent release of their new (and long waited, might I add), Trench album. I caught one of their shows last year which featured some of their new material. But the album hadn’t yet dropped at that point so this time around it’s going to be great knowing all the sounds. I’ve actively been trying to avoid their Instagram to avoid seeing clips from the shows. But on the odd occasion I have accidentally seen clips, the show looks amazing. I’ll be seeing them at Saturday’s date but they have multiple London shows!
The Banditø Tøur will be taking place on the 7th, 8th and 9th at The SSE Arena, London.

ANYTHING ELSE?
I am counting down the days till I fly out to America! Though I’ll be doing a proper review about, well, pretty much everything I’ve used in my planning process but I just want to briefly mention Roadtrippers – this nifty little app/website I’ve been using to plan out the road trip part of our visit. I love this website – it’s great for obviously planning out the trip from A to B (and anywhere else), but it will also find different attractions for you to visit along the way – whether that’s a beautiful outdoor hike you fancy or a completely oddball roadside attraction.

It has pretty much everything which is perfect for me because I love the weird stuff! I actually recently upgraded to Roadtrippers Plus which offers offline maps, live traffic conditions and special discounts. I can imagine we will be relying on this a lot when it comes to the trip but I can’t even begin to tell you how useful it has been in the run-up to it all!

So there we have it! In between leaving my job and flying out for my big adventure later this month, I don’t have time to focus on too much, but I hope I have time to at least indulge in one or two things I’ve mentioned here!

What are you excited for this month? Let me know!
