Lifestyle | Hello April

02/04/2019
A marble-patterned weekly planner, titled "Keep it Simple," sits next to a pair of pink headphones. The planner dates from January 2019 to April 2019. Nearby is a small dish with the word “Bliss” on it. The background includes colorful fabric with various patterns.

Although I’m living it up in America right now, there’s still a lot I’ve got to look forward to upon my return. I have a sneaking suspicion that whilst I take the time to get over my jetlag, I’ll be catching up on all of the below!

Here’s what I’m excited for this April.

THE MOVIE
Yes, I know there’s that Avengers movie out this month but I’m gonna go ahead and talk about how excited I am for Pet Sematary, the latest horror offering by Stephen King. I vaguely remember watching the original a long time ago and I wasn’t too impressed. But from what I’ve heard, this one is going to blow the original out of the water. There are already rave reviews for this, so I’m excited to watch this remake.
Pet Sematary will be released on the 5th.

THE SHOW
Guys. Guys. Jane The Virgin is finally back. I can’t believe I’m away whilst it’s back – especially after that massive cliffhanger at the end of the last season! I’m not going to address anything because spoiler alerts (but if you haven’t caught up yet, make sure you do!), but all I can say is that I can’t wait to watch the cast again. I’m especially excited to watch the hilarious Rogelio and lust after Petra’s fashion sense again.
Jane The Virgin season five should be on Netlix now.

THE ALBUM
Recently, I explained briefly in this post about how being a fan of The Maine is almost like being part of a huge family. I stand by that statement with the release of their new album, You Are Ok, which dropped on the 29th. The band’s entire Instagram feed has been filled with snippets and explanations for the album. Which name means, simply, you are okay. It’s a reminder to fans and I love that. So far, at the time of writing, I’ve only heard three songs from the album. They are Numb Without You, My Best Habit and Broken Hearts, which are amazing! So naturally, the rest of the album is going to be just as good.
The Maine’s You Are Ok is out now.

THE EVENT
If you can get down to London by the end of the week (and yes, I’d suggest making the effort, because this is a gooden!), Bompass and Parr have returned for their latest foodie experience – Lost Lagoon. Taking place in none other than West 12 Shopping Centre, Lost Lagoon sees Bompass and Parr team up with Captain Morgan to create a rum-based subterranean experience. The experience requires rum lovers to sail around in boats (on actual water) to collect ingredients to make rum punch. I am kicking myself for missing this one!
Lost Lagoon is running until the 7th and tickets start from £25.

ANYTHING ELSE?
I have some exciting news! I’ll be writing a column for Circus Magazine – a free lifestyle magazine covering Milton Keynes and surrounding areas. My column will be all about all the quirky things going on in London – and my first piece will cover the best immersive events happening in London this summer. The website is currently under construction (as I write this) but as soon as it’s up to date I’ll be sharing it. I’m sure most of my local readers have already seen the magazine about anyway! It’s a really great opportunity and I cannot wait to see my column in print!

What are you excited for this month? Let me know!
