It’s finally almost winter, yay! In fact it’s Autumn at last which is good enough for me. The winter fashion is starting to come out in shops, the nights are getting darker and TK Maxx are already stocking their Halloween range – major yay.
I may have had to pull myself away from it several times to avoid buying about five packs of cute but edgy Halloween napkins. Do I need them? Do I heck. But am I still going to splurge and by tons of Halloween homeware to display all year round? You betcha.
Anyway. Now that we’re saying goodbye to summer, there’s tons to look forward to during these upcoming winter months. Here’s what’s in store for September…
I have already mentioned this to be fair but Lindsey Kelk’s latest story in the I Heart series is dropping this month. I Heart Forever is about our favourite herioine Angela trying to stay out of trouble when her husband Alex goes travelling. There’s a wedding, the usual work/crazy best friend issues and Christmas is looming too, plus, Angela is said to have a secret. Due to the nature of the last book, I think she’s going to be pregnant; I’m calling it. Even if my guesses are correct it’s going to be a great book and it’s been far too long since I’ve checked in with Angela and her crazy adventures.
I Heart Forever will be released on the 7th.
…but I won’t be ordering a pre-release. Why? Because I’ll instead be buying the book on the 13th (if I can wait that long that is!) at an event aptly named An Evening with Lindsey Kelk, Paige Toon and Louise Pentland. I’m so excited! The event will include talks with all three authors, who I absolutely love (I have read every single one of Lindsey’s books and she’s just so cool, I want to be her friend, I absolutely adore Paige Toon’s writing and Louise Pentland just seems so down to earth). There will also be drinks and canapés and the chance to meet all three authors afterwards to get your books signed. I’m super excited to meet Lindsey because I feel like our writing is very similar so I can’t wait to ask her for some advice on publishing a book. And, of course, I’m going with one of my favourite blogging buddies Lisa! There are still tickets left if you’d like to join…
An Evening with Lindsey Kelk, Paige Toon and Louise Pentland takes place on the 13th.
Well, I can’t say I’m exactly a huge fan of IT as I haven’t read the book and only watched the (very long) original half heartedly once, but the trailer for the remake looks pretty damn amazing and I do love my horror movies! There’s not much I can say about this as I’m sure you all know about it, but my brother, my boyfriend and I are going to book in to see it at the IMAX so I can’t wait.
IT will be released on the 8th.
THE TV SHOW
September is normally a good month for those of us that love a good binge, but there doesn’t seem to be much returning this time around – either that or I’m out of the loop American Horror Story returns on the 5th with new season/theme Cult, but Shameless isn’t back until November and unfortunately Stranger Things won’t be gracing our screens until the end of October. Still, I’m more than sure AHS will keep me entertained for this month, especially as it’s taking on a different idea this time around and focusing on the aftermath of an actual real life event; the presidential election.
American Horror Story: Cult airs on the 5th.
It seems my next adventure/gallivanting location (as my mum used to say!) is going to be Brighton in a few weeks time. The Maine are touring the UK once more and as I missed them on their last tour – and now have a boyfriend to do fun stuff with – I thought it would be nice to forgo their London date and instead pop down to Brighton to see them. We’ve booked a hotel so we’re going to spend two days there, eating vegan food, exploring the lanes, spending pennies in the arcades and rocking out at the gig (Vincent’s first!). It’ll be a far cry from the last few time’s I saw them in Brighton (which resulted in a bonfire on the beach and getting drunk and dancing with John in a funky and intimate underground jazz club), but hey, my groupie days are behind me now!
What are you looking forward to this month? Let me know with a comment, especially if there’s any new/returning TV shows you can recommend!
